Mango Butter vs Shea Butter?: The Battle of Benefits
Body butters have become so popular. The reality of soothing dry skin with a product so creamy and smooth yet nutritious and effective has been turning heads as of late. When made with the finest of ingredients, it is understandable why these body spreads are so loved in our community.
[Let’s keep it simple. Both butters are nutritious “hard oils,"]
There are so many different options to choose from, but today we will focus on the top two most impactful body butters of 2022, Mango Butter and Shea Butter.
Since setting up shop in 2018, we’ve come across a ton of real-world situations and scenarios involving different skin types and degrees of melanated skin. Though similar, Shea butter and Mango butter effect different types of skin differently.
Let’s keep it simple. Both butters are nutritious “hard oils," but I’ve come to discover that many people are allergic to the fatty acids that mango butter produces. Even though its seemingly thinner in consistency than shea butter, mango butter has a lot more fatty acids that can cause clogged pores and break outs. This oftentimes makes mango butter a better option for clients with dry skin and shea butter the best option for those with oilier skin. With that in mind, both butters are superb moisturizers and conditioners for your hair and body and provide antioxidants to reduce the appearance of aging or damage.
